Samba
Share folders with Windows, Mac and Linux computers, and manage Samba users from Cockpit.
About
Samba gives you a simple control panel for file sharing on your Rocky Linux server. Create shared folders, decide who can open them, manage Samba users and passwords, and see who is connected, all without editing configuration files by hand. Every change to smb.conf is checked with testparm before it takes effect and is rolled back automatically if Samba rejects it, so a typo can't break your file sharing.
What this module can do
- - Show Samba's status and version, and start, stop, restart or reload the smb and nmb services
- - Turn Samba on or off at boot
- - Check whether the firewall blocks Samba, and allow it with one click
- - Test the configuration with testparm
- - Change the workgroup and server description
- - List, create, edit and remove shares (folder, access, allowed users, guest access, permissions)
- - Create the shared folder for you, with the owner you choose
- - Add, disable, enable and remove Samba users, and change their passwords
- - Show who is connected right now and which shares are in use
- - Edit smb.conf directly, with automatic backups and rollback
